About Active Days
Active Days is a small not for profit organisation that encourages and enable people to get out and enjoy the beautiful countryside of North West England. Walks and outdoor activities are provided for people who would find it difficult to access the countryside because of health problems or adverse life circumstances. There is a good deal of evidence that walking and getting exercise in the countryside can have highly beneficial effects on general wellbeing & mental health. Walking is also a very social activity and is a good way of making new friends and opening up new experiences. We are very fortunate to be located in Lancaster and have easy access to the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Forest of Bowland and some stunning locations right on our doorstep.
All our walks are in stunning locations
Active Days provide safe modern transport in a small minibus and regular guided walks that take place in small friendly groups of up to seven people. The walks are organised and led by myself, Pete Crutchley. I am a qualified mountain and walk leader, I also have many years of experience of working in mental health services and community learning. I started Active Days so I could share my passion for the outdoors and open up new opportunities for people from all backgrounds to get out and enjoy the challenges and relaxation that the countryside offers.
 Walk through bluebell woods
There are regular walks on Wednedays and Fridays. The Wednesday walks are provided for people who need a bit of extra support to get them out and about. The Friday walks are a bit more challenging and are aimed at people who can participate independently. on Thurday Afternoons there is an Out & About group that provides short easy walks, fun activities and visits to places of local interest.
